Max Cricket - Miro Tigers crowned Champions

Well done to Mr Potaka and the Miro Tigers who battled with Kahikatea House to win the inaugural 2013 Max Cricket House Championships. In an action packed, low scoring final where both coaches displayed their  tensions - Miro fought back after only managing to score mid 30's, bowling out Kahikatea.

The victorious team

Well done to Mr Jeftha and the 1st XI for their convincing first round win over Bethlehem College on Wednesday 27 February. An outstanding batting performance led by captain Marcel Collett (115) set 170+ for the visitors to chase. A great start to the defence of our national title and as a school we wish the team all the best! The next game is 10 days away against Whakatane in Whakatane.

Who will be the next Black Cap???

A walk down history lane shows us how the NZ Cup (formally know as the Milo Cup) has bred future stars in the Black Caps. Kane Williamson (Otumoetai Intermediate), Doug Bracewell and Trent Boult (Tauranga Intermediate) all starred in their 1st XI Milo Cup Teams and are now taking on the Cricketing world. Good luck to our NZ CUP Team for 2013 who set about achieving a 3-peat. Work hard and anything is possible!

NZ Cup Success - Cricket

Skipper Mikaere Leef cutting loose!
Well done to our NZ Cup Cricket Team. Their recent wins over Aquinas College and Cambridge Middle School has them advance to the Northern Regional Finals on Monday. Our team convincingly beat both teams and it is pleasing to see the progress they have made since the beginning of term one. Excellent bowling and fielding were the key to success in both battles and we wish them all the best for Monday.

Well done on a great Term One of Cricket! On Wednesday they defeated Morrinsville Intermediate and Aquinas College, two convincing victories. Mr Jeftha, Mr Hampton and the boys have had some outstanding results winning 5 from 5 to progress to the next stage of the competition. Jamie Oakley and his 101 not out was a highlight of the season against Bethlehem College. Term 4 will see the next stage of their competition kick off and we wish them all the best. Here are some photographs from the action on Wednesday against Aquinas College.
