Congratulations to Mr Jeftha and our schools 1st X1 cricket team. The boys have won through to the Northern Districts Final and will now play Southwell Preparatory School from Hamilton This Wednesday the 30th of October at Tauranga Intermediate School in a 20/20 match beginning at 10am.

Please find the match report from the last two games.

TIS v St Peters College
On the 16th of October 2013 the Tauranga Intermediate 1st Xl (New Zealand Cup Squad) travelled to Saint Peters College, Cambridge.
We arrived to a good wicket with a flat outfield. We won the toss and chose to bowl which proved to be the right decision, as we bowled extremely well. Wiremu Leef (3-5) and Taylor Bettelheim (3-6) lead with their outstanding bowling figures. Rhys Mischewski (1-3), Finn Sears (2-8), Marcel Collett (1-6) and Scott Ellerington (0-3 off 4 overs) also making handy contributions.
Light work was made of the batting as Taylor Bettelheim (9 n.o) and Marcel Collett (23 n.o),
chased down the total of 28 in 7 overs.
The whole day was brilliantly topped off with a feed from KFC!

TIS v Gisborne Intermediate
On the 23rd of October 2013, the Tauranga Intermediate 1st Xl cricket/New Zealand cup squad, travelled all the way down to Gisborne for the Bay of Plenty/Poverty Bay champs. Once we got there we were billeted out by the players of their NZ Cup team. This was a new and awesome experience for most of us. Our billets looked after us making sure we had a good dinner and breakfast before the big game the next day.
We all felt uncertain about the game as it was a foggy day with rain due to come. Finn Sears won the toss and again decided to bowl. Initially our bowling was a bit rusty, but with some encouragement Marcel Collett ended up with handy figures of 5-21. Helped by Taylor Bettelheim (3-11), Gisborne were dismissed for 104.
Marcel was caught on 10 leaving Taylor to steady the ship with a great knock of 29 n.o. We managed to win with 10 overs to spare. Other handy runs were made by Tasman Carson (21) and Finn Sears (16).
Not only did we come away with an important win we also had the opportunity to experience what being billeted is like. Thanks to Gisborne Intermediate and all our supporters who continue to travel to cheer us on.
