Inspire a generation.

Over 7,200 attendees at the NZCT AIMS Games Opening ceremony were inspired by our Olympians Mahe Drysdale and Sarah Walker who jointly opened the games.

The London Olympic theme was to “Inspire a Generation” and that is certainly what Mahe and Sarah did to a very receptive audience. The atmosphere was electric as the first performers took to the stage and presented the kapa haka with such passion. They performed with the Otumoetai Intermediate school motto in mind, to Hope, Strive and Achieve. This set the scene of an opening ceremony full of fantastic talent from New Zealand. These might be the sporting championships for year 7 and 8 years but the talent on display this evening highlight the strength in performing arts as well.
